Walking into the nature without haste and by following the own rhythm, admiring breathtaking views, climbing sinuous hills and breathing fresh air, discovering lush forests and flourishing valleys or walking alongside lively streams and observing them ending in deep blue lakes. 

This is the philosophy of Ecological Tours that since 2000 organizes short trips in bicycle and excursions on greenways among beautiful landscapes which will lead you discovering historic and eternal sites and other natural and artistic beauties in Umbria, Toscana and within the whole Italian and European territory. 

The safety level of our tours is checked and verified every year by our collaborators and competent guides licensed by the Region. Each tour (as, for instance, the bike short trips and the hiking’s activities) could be organized as a group tour or an individual one - each one assisted by the telephonic or the frontal assistance of our collaborators, and with the possibility of choosing between different difficulty levels.

Ecological Tours is a travel agency that aims to protect the surrounding territory and to encourage a responsible tourism. Our agency supports the non-profit association Trees For All and in particular its project in the Philippines for the restocking of woods and the consequent reduction of the Earth pollution’s level and the no-profit organization World Bicycle Relief which works in poor and disadvantage country with the purpose of distributing bikes and transforming them in sources of life and progress. 

In 2011, Ecological Tours won the Premio Turismo Cultura awarded by the Unesco, a price assigned to travel operators and agencies that organize and promote trips in destinations recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. 

Indeed, besides to the naturalistic trips and excursions, Ecoligical Tour offers tours and visits in historical villages and cities that own artistic architectural heritage of rare value, where it is still possible to listen and to have conversations with the locals in order to learn about histories and traditions, or simply to take a break for tasting typical delicacies and wines made by local producers, authentic “sources” of the true gastronomic taste! 

In addition, we promote events with the aim of creating synergy between people and territory as we are convinced that what is surrounding us today is our present but yet the future for the next generations and preserving it and taking care of it, it really means living in a better world.

Tribewanted was born as an online community of like-minded people looking to crowd-fund a real world sustainable community.

We explored ways to make the Tribewanted model sustainable, not only socially and environmentally, but also financially, to bring long-term benefits to our communities and to the local workers. We wanted to prove that a more sustainable model is not only possible but desirable.

In order to increase the appeal of our locations, and in order to show that it is possible to live sustainably also in our own backyard, we have launched an ambitious project: transforming the XVth century hamlet of Monestevole, in Umbria, Italy, into a sustainable community. 

The goal is to give our members a more accessible location where they can learn about sustainability and get their hands dirty, while at the same time enjoying the traditional Umbrian cuisine and culture of farmers, horse-lovers, artisans and musicians. 

The ethos of Tribewanted is to protect the local environment and promote the local culture, while we adapt the project to the local traditions.

Will the model work? Only time will tell. We aim high, and perhaps will only settle half way. But in the meantime, we are living how we want to live; when you love what you do, you don't work a day in your life. Join us. Lets build a tribe.

MALVARINA, ALBERGO DIFFUSO DI CAMPAGNA, UMBRIA

The ancient ‘Malvarina’ source, a short way from St. Benedict Abbey (XI century), gave its name to a lovely small strip of land between Assisi and Spello, that overlooks a panoramic valley embracing Perugia and Spoleto.

Stables, barns and outbuildings have been renovated and turned into cottages, studios and rooms with private bathroom, totally dipped in the green of oak woods and well furnished, in a classic country style. Part of the old cellar has been turned into an intimate dining room with a large fireplace where to enjoy meals in warmth and sympathy. About 70% of the products we offer customers are of our production.

The Malvarina farm is a 'green' company, with an organic production IMC certified (Istituto Mediterraneo di Certificazione), able to offer  a wide range of products: sausages, Pecorino cheese, ricotta, meat from farmyard and vegetables from organic garden.

Other products to enjoy are jams, Millefiori honey and extra virgin olive oil. Our property is powered by solar and thermal panels, and all our rooms and apartments are equipped with water saving showers. To relax lovers the Malvarina farm is the ideal place. Nature is the true protagonist of these places involving all the senses in a continuous rediscovery of a dimension wherein man and nature blend together, away from the neurosis of everyday life.

CASALE SATRIANO

The ancient Casale Satriano is located in the centre of Umbria, near Montefalco. It is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in natural surroundings, easy reach of the historic towns of Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Spello, Perugia,Orvieto and Gubbio.The Casale has been recently restored and forms part of the Antonelli San Marco wine estate. 

The property has vineyards for the production of the famous Sagrantino, di Montefalco and Grechetto wines, as well as olives trees for quality extra virgin olive oil. There is also a wood with age-old oak trees and magnificent views of the Monti Martani. 

A large garden with swimming pool, traditional wood oven and a children’s playground complete the facilities at guests’ disposal.The apartments sleep between 4 and 7 people. Each is fully furnished, with its own kitchen, autonomous heating, fireplace and colour TV. Bed linen and towels are also provided.
